We’re taking our exercise and enjoying being out in the fresh air – albeit limited at this time. Here’s a new one for us – parking in front of Sawley Church and walking to the newly discovered Orchid Wood.
Orchid Wood was made a Local Nature Reserve in April 2020. It has a main perimeter path with lots of paths leading off to green spaces of various sizes.
When we visited the paths were fairly muddy but it was good to get some fresh air and relaxation not far from home.
We’ll put it on the list of places to visit in the Spring/Summer when the trees are in leaf.
We drove a little way and parked in front of Sawley Church and walked along the road towards Draycott to reach the wood.
We had a good walk around the perimeter path and, nearly back at the entrance, settled on a seat to have coffee and Christmas Cake that we’d brought with us.
Hopefully we’ve used as many calories as we’ve eaten!
