A great day out.

We’ve been venturing a little further but still not wanting to put ourselves at risk. This proved to be a great day at the coast.

We wanted to visit the coast at Skegness but didn’t want to be amongst large crowds. Our answer was to visit when most of them had gone home. We decided we’d arrive teatime and have fish and chips before walking along the beach and seafront.

We also took the opportunity to say hello to the Baxter family – from a safe distance on the pavement. It was good to see them all.

So – after lunch we headed for Anderby Creek arriving just in time for tea and cake in the afternoon. There’s a wide open beach at Anderby Creek and we walked towards the sea and then headed for Chapel Six Marshes. We found that this area is now called The Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park. It stretches from Sandilands (just South of Sutton on Sea) to Chapel St Leonards. As well as the natural attractions, it has the Structures on the Edge Project which sees various artworks installed along the coast. Some are shown below – most are meant for interaction with visitors.

Following on from our Anderby Creek adventure we visited the Baxters, enjoyed fish and chips and then walked the Skegness seafront and beach. A great day out without any problems.
