Back in October 2020 we visited Dover Castle and had a great time wandering around discovering many things.
Some of the rooms in The Great Tower were decorated, equipped and reserved for the King’s visits. In one room was this magnificent coloured chair.
This impressed Susan at the time, so much so that when we returned home she set about converting one of our humble dining chairs to match the King’s colourful one.
So here’s a picture of one of our dining chairs.
This is part of a set of Table and Four Chairs that someone was getting rid of and we took in, probably fifteen years ago. The set has served us well when young grandchildren visited as it could be used for anything.
And this is the finished “King’s” chair.
Susan has spent many hours carefully cleaning, sanding, applying masking tape and painting it to get it like this.
We have a chair fit for a King should one ever decide to visit. I think with all the effort it took it will be a one-off transformation and our other three chairs will remain as they are.

That is an amazing transformation, another talent you have 😊xx
