This Section takes us from the market town of Matlock over the top of High Tor, the high edge of the gorge, and on along the Cromford Canal to Whatstandwell.
The walk starts in Hall Leys Park, Matlock, walking alongside the River Derwent. We turn off the river and up over High Tor before descending through a wood to walk through Matlock Bath. We pick up the Cromford Canal at it’s start in Cromford Wharf and follow it to Whatstandwell crossing over a bridge over the railway line to arrive at the station platform.
