Here we go again!

Perhaps it was inevitable given the way things were going – we’re in Lockdown again.

We were given a few days notice of the intention and we took advantage of that with a couple of outings — all within the rules and guidance of course.

Our ticket to the National Tramway Museum at Crich gives free return visits for 12 months and so we took advantage of that. We arrived early and were first in the queue for our, now pre-allocated, tram ride. This saw us on the front of the top deck taking in the views. The cafe was good for a hot drink and cake and we enjoy the countryside walk along the tram route. A good time out and not far from home.

Our second outing was to Scarborough, a little further this time, one of our favourite seaside places. The day usually follows the same routine – arrive early and park for free above the spa gardens, wander around the Italian Gardens until the Clock Cafe opens and then go there for coffee and cake. A great start to the day. We wander all along the seafront to the North Bay – this time along the beach where possible as the tide was out. The Ravine in Peasholm Park is always on the itinerary and then we wandered back to the car. We didn’t stay or wander as much as sometimes – it was a relaxing day.

So what now …

We’ve started back on our local walks – today was Grange Park where the Long Eaton football team are based. We’ll try and pick out somewhere most days, the garden will be glad of the attention again and, although we’re not into Spring Cleaning this time, the house may get some attention too.
